Steam Sauna vs Dry Sauna: What’s the Difference?
A sauna without steam isn’t truly a sauna; this misconception primarily exists in North America.
The term "dry sauna" is a misinterpretation and reflects a general misunderstanding of what a sauna truly is. This confusion can be loosely traced back to the 1950s when insurance companies began prohibiting the use of water on electric heaters, despite the fact that all sauna stoves are designed for this purpose.
A true sauna experience always involves five key elements: heat, steam, ventilation, rocks, and wood. Sauna requires pouring water on well heated rocks to produce steam.
